Scope

The Accellera Technical Committee has established this new Proposed Working Group (PWG) to collect industry requirements for a potential standardization project for functional safety. Functional safety is a requirement for safety critical applications. The PWG will explore creation of working group to address the need for a standard or format supporting functional safety.

The EDA industry is developing tools and flows to perform functional safety analysis, and to make functional safety part of the design/verification/implementation flow. Many companies have expressed interest in standardization in this area with the goal to enable tool interoperability between FMEDA and the RTL-to-GDS flow.

The PWG will also clarify relations and dependencies to other functional safety standardization initiatives and identify potential working group participants.
